Blog EntryCongrats to PACMAN!Jun 29, '08 3:34 AM
for everyone

WOW!!! Amazing!!! What can I say?! A 9th round KO from Manny “PACMAN” Pacquiao. Watching him fight really astounds me.  I may say coming into a brawl with David Diaz (the former WBC Lightweight Champion), the Pacman is in superb condition.  David is a tough customer.  With all the punches that he absorbed and he even looked ready to go at the earlier rounds, he stayed toe to toe with Manny until the 9th round.  Diaz, after the fight, even mentioned that Manny is so fast that he didn’t even know what hit him (He said it was the left hand but not quite sure) to kiss the canvas.  It was really a mismatch and all Diaz did was to cover-up.

Now he’s got his 4th World Title, what’s next for him?  Would he move to 140lbs or stay at 135?  Like what Bob Arum said earlier, there are great fighters in the Lightweight Division.  We have Edwin Valero (Great knockout artist with almost all wins coming from 1st round KO) and Nate Campbell (The guy who beat lightweight multi-belt holder Juan Diaz).  Also, Juan Manuel Marquez and Joan Guzman moved up to this division to chase and challenge Pacquiao. However if he’ll fight Edwin Valero, they need to make sure that Valero would clash first with Guzman or Marquez to test if he’s a credible opponent.  I would also love to also see a rubber-match between Pacman and JMM but this is far from happening with Arum on the side of Pacman.

If Pacquiao stirs to 140lbs, we would see him collide with Ricky Hatton of Manchester.  And that would be an absolutely exciting match. With both man with almost the same fighting style (though Hatton is orthodox) and speed, we will be completely thrilled by this match-up.

Hope he continues his quest for another World Title and move away from all the distractions outside the boxing ring.

Again, congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for his victory.

Blog EntryEOS utility cd damaged....Jun 26, '08 9:13 AM
for everyone

I'm on a 1 week sick leave because the doctor advised me to take a rest.

Totally bored at home and so I decided to load the pictures to our PC from my camera, Simone.

But, I found out that the Canon EOS Utility CD is absolutely wrecked by our cutie baby Chase.

Now, I need to look for a copy of this CD so I could start uploading new pictures here. ;(

Blog EntryGetting back in shape?!Jun 18, '08 3:54 AM
for everyone

Just when I thought that I could start getting back in shape, I was hit by sore throat and flu.  It started last Sunday morning when I went out with my friends.  Maybe the two bottles of SanMig light triggered it plus a week of work and weekend in Ilocos.  I really need to cutoff all alcoholic beverages from now on.

I haven’t got a decent workout for 1 month and a half.  And now, I can feel my body’s looking for it.  All the shirts that I have are all loose.  I would love to start with light weights but with the feeling of being weak and sick, I can’t get going.

Hmmm, what do I need to keep me going and have the discipline that I have months ago?  Do I need to enroll myself back in a hardcore gym and leave my rusty stuff just for a few months?  Or do I need someone to encourage me and do my usual routine every morning?

I hope I could really get back in shape as soon as possible.

Blog EntrySummer 2008Apr 8, '08 11:53 AM
for everyone
It’s already mid-summer and I haven’t been to the beach or even take a dip into a pool.  Right now, all of the adventures that I was dreaming way before came to a halt.  I was hoping I could go to Marinduque with my new buddies or go to Baguio with my co-workers.  But, things came up.  Kuya Bong went home for a week-vacation so I need to cancel my attendance to the Marinduque trip.  And, I ran out of bucks to join the Baguio trip.

What made me busy during this season is the PSS Basketball League (games are every Saturday at Green Meadows Gym).  I missed a game because of KC’s graduation (But that is given. My mom would kill me if I didn’t attend the ceremony).  Our basketball team (TKMY) is organizing a trip to Mindoro and hopefully I could bond with them.

Would I still be able to go out and enjoy the rays of the sun?  Well, I still have 1 month and a half to hitch on others escapades (If anyone would accept me to join their hooray.).  Hehehe…

I’m still looking forward on making the trip to Anawangin, Zambales.  I haven’t been there before and seeing those photos in the net; I can’t help but to be fascinated on how that place was crafted.  Imagine a little island with a swamp.

Maybe we could still pass by Capones Island if there’s still time. =)

Blog EntryProper way of cooking instant noodles... =)Apr 2, '08 6:41 AM
for everyone
just got this from a business contact's blog...
very informative.. hail to a longer life everyone... =)

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and
health. Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the
noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook
for 3 minutes around and then ready to eat.

This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles.

By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder,
normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG
causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realized is that, the noodles
are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body
to excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT method , which you may or may not know, is to cook the
noodles this way :

1. boil the noodles in a pot with water.

2. once the noodles is cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away
the water which contains wax.

3. boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into
the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.

4. only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is
very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make
noodle soup.

5. however, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles then add
the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Please share this info and help save a life.

This was just forwarded to my email.. Find it very funny..

From chico and delamar’s morning rush!! Enjoy!!

Blog EntryTime for a cooool change…Jan 10, '08 9:29 AM
for everyone
What can I say?  Well, 2007 has been a wonderful year for me although; there were also things that went the other way.

God has been so generous on pouring on His blessings upon me and my family.  I started working for a new company April last year and the compensation is pretty good.

I’ve hit some of my targets like the investment on mutual funds, read books about finances/investments, and purchased a bigger life insurance and a second hand car.  My mom’s business flourished towards the last few months of 2007.  I’ve found new and long lost friends also. Last September, a pet came into our lives in the persona of Chase (persona?! Yeah, it’s a dog but we treat him like our baby.). I’ve also visited some summer spots like Pagudpod, Vigan, Putipot Island and Puerto Galera.

Right now, I got a lot of things circling around my head.  Got lots of thoughts, funny memories and some regrets.  As the saying goes, “Nobody’s perfect”.  This year (and also the coming years), I would like to make adjustments on the things that went off beam.  I’ll be needing more time to ponder and reflect on stuff that I’ve done in the past.  I know it would be a rough track but I’ll try my best to achieve it. I also desire to spend more time with my family, relatives and friends.

Hope that this year will be prosperous for all of us.

God is with us always! =)

Blog EntryHow Do I Breathe - MarioSep 26, '07 9:33 AM
for everyone
How do I breathe
How do I breathe mmm mmm..
Feels so different being here
I'm so used to being next to you
Life for me is not the same
Theres no-one to talk to
Don't know why I let it go too far
Starting over it's so hard
Seems like everywhere I try to go
I keep thinking of you
I just had a wakeup call
Wishing that I never let you fall
Baby your not to blame at all
When i'm the one that pushed you away
Baby if you knew I care
You never would’ve went nowhere
Girl I should have been right there

How do I breathe
Without you here by my side
How will I see
when Your love brought me to the light
Where do I go
When your hearts where I lay my head
When your not with me
How do I breathe
How do I breathe

Girl I'm losing my mind
Yes I made a mistake
Thought that you would be mine
Guess the joke was on me
I miss you so bad I cant sleep
I wish I knew where you could be
Another dude is replacing me
Girl this cant be happening
I just had a wakeup call
Wishing that I never let you fall
Baby your not to blame at all
When i'm the one that pushed you away
Baby if you knew I care

You never would have went nowhere
Girl I should have been right there

and I wonder
How do I breathe
Without you here by my side
How will I see
when Your love brought me to the light
Where do I go
When your hearts where I lay my head
When your not with me
How do I breathe
How do I breathe

I cant get over you no
Baby I dont wanna let go
Girl you need to come home
Back to me
Cause girl you made it hard to breathe
When your not with me

Tell me
How do I breathe
Without you here by my side
How will I see
When Your love brought me to the light
Where do I go
When your hearts where I laid my head
When your not with me
How do I breathe
How do I breathe

Blog Entryofficial missing someone..May 1, '07 7:20 PM
for everyone
lately, my days are like seconds passing-by.. next thing i know is that it's already weekend.. it's like i'm a wanderer in a deserted island or place.. i feel that i got no control over things and over myself.. seems like everything is slipping away, and i don't want that to happen.. my temper gets really bad, i mean very very bad especially when i lack sleep..

not to make most of my weekend is a no no for me.. but ever since i landed this job, everything's changed.. instead of enjoying the day time with my family and yen during the weekends, i now spend it with the cushion above my bed.. now, i came to a point of asking myself some questions like "do i really need this job?" and "would i be able to sustain the relationships that i have?".. answer to my first question is a "yes" coz i need to help my family and be able to save.. and to the second "uhm, nahhh".. there were no more QTs with yen.. no more mr. nice guy with my siblings, nephew and cousins.. i even remember instances that i totally didn't greet the person that i cross coz my mind is floating in the air..

there's also other issues here.. one, this coming may25-27, i don't think that i may be able to serve God because of my schedule.. i miss the people of CORE (corinthian of holy family parish) whom i used to serve with.. two, i couldn't workout anymore.. i think i've loosen weight but i began to have a flabby tummy.. yikes!!

but on top of everything, i just want to send the message across.. i'm really missing someone.. i miss the kulitan times.. i miss the pasta that tastes like pancit canton.. i miss the jumping jacks queen.. i miss the best iced tea in town.. i miss the girl that drives like a jeepney driver.. i miss the grin on her face.. i miss hugging her.. i miss everything about her..

Blog EntryPagudpod.. PAGOD?!Apr 6, '07 9:17 AM
for everyone
well, what could i say?!  it took me almost a week to share this story with you guys..  sigh..

last friday (that was March 30, 2007), me, my girlfriend, and seven others went into a vacation..  call it vacation.. nahh.. we left manila at around 11pm that day and I really don't know where we were headin'..  they just told me that we'll be going to pagudpod, ilocos..  I thought it would only take us 6-8hours to get to our destination..  I've been in a lot of road trips so I took it light and easy..

we're headin' north so we took the NLEX path..  going there, we were stopped by 2 police officers and i think they were just looking for offenses which the
y could charge to us..

after that, it was smooth sailing..  we had a couple of stop overs and we're back on track..  something came up after driving for hours..  the van that we're using had problems with its radiator..  that was the start of our early "penitensya"..

once in a while i look at my watch and would also glance on the map that we have..  i really thought we're already near the target but when i checked the map, we haven't reached half of the trip..  imagine yourself going to baguio twice to get there..

14 years, i mean hours of driving, we landed on vigan, ilocos norte..  the place was really good and the "empanadas" are tasty!! yum yum..  ohhhh, i do got the munchies.. we had lunch there and took pictures of the  vintage  houses there..  then, we left the place  and  headed towards north..

another 4 hours and wahhhlahhhh, it was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..  the scenes that we've seen were very much rewarding..  we were on top of the mountains and right below us was a blue lagoon..  we just couldn't wait to land our foot on the fine white sand that surface the beach shore..  "ahhh, at last!! finally!!" whatever word you want to say after that long long, very long, very tiring journey..  we were not yet on the resort where we would stay but I opted to walk along the shore to give myself a reward..  it was a relaxing and refreshing moment..  while walking, i couldn't help but to thank GOD for everything..  i learned to appreciate even the tiny things that i saw  when we started  the travel..  the fields, the mountains, the sunrise, the air, the clouds, the sea.. everything!!  as in everything..  it's really amazing..

**by the way, i would also like to thank kate and her family for letting us join their vacation..

TIP: for those who would want to go to pagudpod, make sure you'll render 5days including more than 24 hours of travel back and forth..

Blog Entrylearn from my explosionJan 23, '07 5:58 AM
for everyone
one thing that i've learned today is not to mix things up or else.. never over eat and make sure that the food you take would jive into your stomach..

here's a list of what i've taken yesterday:
8:30pm = egg + chicken fillet sandwich and pasta
10pm = apple, banana and milk
12md = pizza, catsup and skimmed milk (yakult)

today, i've already went to the toilet for 4 times.. 4am, 9am, 11am and 1:30pm to be specific.. what a relief, every time i finish the session.. it's like escaping the punches and knees of mr. wanderlei silva every round.. the funny thing about this is that the fourth encounter was with the happy bee (jollibee).. good thing was that there is a toilet paper and running water available.. after leaving the place, i looked at the mascot's face and it was smiling.. deep inside, i was smiling too..

I've been nailing water and sh*t down the drain and now my tummy is still knocking.. i already took diatabs and it ain't working.. don't make the same mistake ever again..

Blog Entrywhat a year-ender..Jan 11, '07 6:47 AM
for everyone
another familiar last quarter of the year..  yeah, that means spending the holiday season at the store with my family..  but the difference is that now i own one store..  yup, heard that right a stall for me (right beside my mom's)..  actually it's not only mine coz my dear yen added capital for the business..  it's a very great experience for me coz i've learned a lot of things that eventually i could use in the near future..

running a business is like having a new born kid (although i don't have any babies, i just know the feeling)..  it's not a joke son..

the last two months of the year, namely nov and dec, is very crucial for a retailer like me and my mom..  it's the time of giving and sharing presents, eating out, going to the spa, having a vacation for the many but for us, nahhh..  we had to stay up for about 12hrs the least and 26hrs the most..  you guys would probably ask me WHY?  the answer is that you would open the stall, man it for 8-12 hours, arrange the goods, close the stall, sleep a little, then go and bargain with suppliers and wholesalers..  the hardest part of it was going to the wholesalers place and bring it to your place..

going back and forth to that place, i've met lots of people..  and mostly are the real hard-working men and women who wants to survive in the game called life..  these people doesn't have college degrees or even MBAs and some didn't even finish highschool..  but some of them are earning way much higher than those of the bank managers, doctors and other professionals..  i experienced what they've been through..  carry cartons/plastic bags bigger and heavier than you are, skip meals, walk cheek to cheek and elbow to elbow in the crowd, and have no sleep at all; those are the sacrifices that they have to do just to earn a living and provide the needs of their families..  well, i salute and got lots of respect for these people..  they energize and keep the fire burning inside me..

i never imagine myself doing those chores but i did..  at the beginning of the race, i was so eager..  imagining lumps of cash on my pocket at the end and that enticed me..

but as days passed by, i was already giving up..  i became weak and sick because of the stress i got..  i look back at my itinerary before the tiangge: wake-up by 9 or 10 am, eat my bfast, take a bath, hit the gym, take a shower, report to work by 1pm, bound home at around 9-10pm..  my life before was like a walk in the park..  but i think there's something missing..

maybe GOD has a purpose why HE led me to this..  maybe HE knows that i'm not happy with my work and so HE gave me an alternative..  now, everything is clear to me..  GOD wants me to help out my mom and be with my family that time of the year..  HE wants me to become generous and give a hand to those who are in need..

With the time and oppurtunity GOD gave me, I was able to chat and laugh with my family and relatives for more than 45days..  if i didn't venture to the biz, i would have only been with them during weekends and the xmas & new year break..

The memories and learnings are definitely PRICELESS..  I hope that this year would give more of those and also more cash..  hehehe..
